Please read this notice before agreeing to use Impulse’s facial matching service at the Fandom event.

Impulse collects, uses, and stores biometric information, including a scan of your face geometry, to find and deliver your event photos.

Your separate consent is required before biometric processing begins.

1. What we collect

Impulse Interactive Inc. (“Impulse”) processes your submitted selfie and event photographs to generate and use biometric information, including a scan of face geometry and a facial matching template.

2. Why we use it

We use this information to match your face in event photographs, identify photographs featuring you, and deliver those photographs to your personal gallery through the event photo service.

3. How long we keep it

Your selfie, scan of face geometry, and facial matching template are collected, stored, and used only for the event photo matching service, for no longer than 14 days after your selfie is submitted. They will be permanently deleted sooner if the purpose for collecting them has been fulfilled.

This biometric retention period is separate from the retention of your delivered event photographs and registration details, which are covered by Impulse’s Privacy Policy.

4. Who may receive it

Your biometric information may be shared with Impulse’s service providers and sub-processors, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), and with Fandom, the client for this event, solely as necessary to provide and operate the event photo matching and delivery service.

5. Your written consent

The event signup form asks for a separate, affirmative consent to this notice. The biometric consent checkbox is not pre-checked and is separate from acceptance of general Terms & Conditions.

Biometric consent and written release

I have read the Biometric Information Notice & Consent. I authorize Impulse Interactive Inc. to collect, use, and store my biometric information, including a scan of my face geometry, to match and deliver my Fandom event photos for no longer than 14 days after I submit my selfie, with earlier deletion when the purpose is fulfilled. I also authorize disclosure to Impulse’s service providers and sub-processors, including AWS, and to Fandom, solely for this purpose. By checking the separate biometric consent checkbox in the event signup form, I provide my affirmative written consent and release.
